Black and white view of the ancient Gallo-Roman arenas of Saintes, dating from the 1st and 2nd centuries, with visible ruins and a bell tower in the background. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 13 May 1942, addressed to Mr. Meurjey in Gourdon, with a postmark from Libourne dated 14 June 1942.
