Old postcard of the Pacific, issued by the French Republic Colonies, franked with a 15-cent stamp depicting an allegorical figure. The back, although not visible here, would have contained the correspondence and the typical postmark of postcards from this era. The paper has a characteristic beige tint of old paper stock.
