Colorized view of the Castello Scaligero in Sirmione, on the Lago di Garda, with an arched bridge and colorful boats in the foreground, one of which bears the inscription 'MARGO POLO'. On the reverse, an Italian postcard dated 1943, sent from Sirmione to Paris, with a 15 lire stamp and a handwritten inscription 'Affectionate greetings from Italy'.
