Historical illustration of the arrival in Hem of Prince Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte (future Napoleon III) on August 8, 1846, after his escape from the fortress of Boulogne. He is depicted as a mason, wearing red pommettes, a cap, a pipe, and large clogs, carrying a board on his shoulder. Reverse: French 10-centime postage stamp, cancellation, handwritten address to 'Monsieur Défays Clining at Vitry, Seine', and handwritten date '25 June 1907'.
