View of the Gothic ruins of the Abbey of Maillezais, with pointed arches and a statue in a niche. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated September 29, 1909, addressed to 'My dear little friend' in Vendeuse, expressing her joy at receiving the postcard and mentioning a 'small red apple' and 'Claude Brugère'. A green 5-centime postmark is canceled.
